With a range of advantages, the new sports complex appeals to athletes, including a synthetic turf soccer stadium, a grandstand with over 200 seats overlooking essential changing rooms, two tennis courts, and a versatile multipurpose room with 400 seats. This room can be adapted for various activities such as dance, fitness, yoga, or even film screenings. Additionally, the complex houses municipal services for Youth and Sports and provides an aerial car park with 70 spaces.
The architectural design of this extensive structure, embedded into the rocky terrain, was carefully planned to honor the site’s strong identity at the base of the historic center of Bot, near the renowned glass factory. The construction adheres to Low Consumption Building and High Environmental Quality standards. Erected in under two years, the building is fully insulated externally and adorned with stone and wood, both natural materials that facilitate its harmonious integration into the landscape. This project combines sports and culture successfully while fulfilling the municipality’s vision of fostering intergenerational connections.
“Bernard Fauroux exceeded my expectations by proposing a simple and elegant design, considering the significant site constraints. He skillfully integrated the building into the landscape, preserving the environment and using lowrise constructions and noble materials like wood and stone. Additionally, he ensured the preservation of the historic center’s perspective, giving it the recognition it deserves.”
Versatile, it undeniably is! With a total surface area of 430 m², it can be divided at will into two areas thanks to a removable soundproof partition. The larger section, nearly 290 m², is equipped with a retractable grandstand seating 315 people, a telescopic stage, a 6-meter screen, and all the audiovisual equipment, and can easily be transformed into a real cinema. Normally, the hall’s solid parquet floor is ideal for gentle activities such as gymnastics, dance, or yoga. The space can, however, be made available to local associations looking for a venue for meetings or events.
