Peymeinage
Closed for more than eight years, the hotel and vacation village of La Tour Carrée in Peymeinade were in a deplorable state before the owner, Mutualité Sociale Agricole of Ile-de-France, decided to embark on an extensive renovation program:
The hotel, comprising around forty rooms, has been thoughtfully integrated into the original 17th century building. Additionally, it features a restaurant with a professional kitchen, cozy lounges, and activity rooms. Outside, visitors can enjoy the newly renovated swimming pool and an outdoor amphitheater.
The vacation village now boasts 14 cottages or villas, offering a total of 37 accommodations. At the heart of the village lies a newly created recreational area, perfect for socializing, complete with a swimming pool, a paddling pool for children, play areas, and pétanque courts.
The project faced its share of challenges, given the remote location of the sites, an initially incomplete diagnosis, and modifications made several times to the original plan during construction. Unforeseen discoveries during the demolition phase necessitated adjustments to the project, as past renovation works were uncovered, some of which we had to work around. While the concern of the team in charge was to modernize the existing buildings, complying with all current accessibility and safety standards, they also aimed to open up spaces, seeking an overall coherence while preserving the essence and character of the place
