Opio
From its very opening, this recreational space enjoyed great success because it welcomes people of all ages to engage in physical activities or simply unwind amid a beautiful, tree-lined park spanning over three hectares. Strollers and athletes can meander along the smooth lines of various paths, while children and teenagers, when not exploring the area on bikes, will find play areas tailored to their age, and older people can try their hand at a game of pétanque. A welcoming building with a wooden frame, nestled against a striking red wall, stands as a landmark in this space where nature jealously retains its central role for the enjoyment of all.
“Imagining landscaped mounds bordered by curved fences was a brilliant idea by Bernard Fauroux to help forget the nearby Departmental Road. It required careful thought and intelligence in proportions to reconfigure this initially flat, ordinary, and humid terrain into the friendly, harmonious, and frequented place it has become.”
Thierry Occelli, Mayor of Opio
